negotiations for the Crown, including
Leading the Government officials' team
in pre-negotiation discussions with Ngai Tahu officials
and advisers, exploring parameters of a possible package
Advising the Prime Minister, and liaising
with the Minister of Justice, during the negotiations
Working Solicitor-General, Crown Counsel,
and senior officials on the settlement package, including
the legal and policy design of new instruments such as Topuni,
Nohoanga, and Statutory Acknowledgements
Attending various post-negotiation consultations
between the Crown and Ngai Tahu
Electricity reforms
Led the Government officials' consultation
process with Maori on the 1996 and 1998 restructuring of the
Electricity Corporation of New Zealand
Fisheries
Assisted the Crown on elements of the Treaty
fisheries deed of settlement between the Government and Maori
Lake Taupo
Advised the Prime Minister on elements of
the settlement returning the bed of Lake Taupo-nui-a-Tia to
Ngati Tuwharetoa

the Prime Minister on legal elements of other Treaty settlements,
and worked closely with various Government officials negotiating
